Our Heartfelt Thank You to Florkime Paye!!!
We were honored to have our former board member, Florkime Paye, host a Facebook Fundraiser on the behalf of Uniting Distant Stars for her birthday last month. Her campaign raised $335 from family and friends that will go towards the vocational training of ambitious young people in Liberia. Florkime, we give you are bighearted Thank You for your continued dedication and support of Liberian Youth!!!
Your Generous Gift At Work
Your compassionate giving opens doors for young Liberians who need support in furthering their educational goals. You have shared our journey of empowering Liberian Youth (children, teenagers, and young adults) in Liberia with educational resources (scholarships, school supply drives, etc), leadership development (youth virtual exchanges and workshops) and vocational training courses in the fields needed in their country. You have contributed to our growth by providing the means to offer programs that our youth have requested.
Your generosity toward our “Become a Classroom Hero” campaign will soon be at work! We wired $4,300 on Friday to purchase the learning materials for the five courses: Catering, Cosmetology, Electricity, Plumbing, and Tailoring. Some of our students will be completing their courses in November, and it is important that we can deliver the hands-on training they need, so they can find employment or start a business when they graduate. We will continue to promote this campaign so we can raise the remaining funds for needed practical materials.

Appreciating the Distant Stars

This post is dedicated to all the selfless STARs who continually share their special gifts to make this a better world. Whether you serve one person or entire community, you are doing something that matters to those you are helping. What you have to offer is something more than what money could ever buy, because when you give of yourself it is priceless to those who are receiving it. While your name or face may not appear in the mainstream news, your act of kindness did have an impact that is worth acknowledging.
A much deserved Thank You to all the Distant STARS who continue to trade in the commodities of goodwill toward others. You have invested some time, energy, strength and resources to provide hope, peace and well-being to those in despair. The returns for your generosity has been smiles, hugs and tears of joy. This earned interest of love will grow exponentially as those you served reinvest their gains of being valued to others in need. There is nothing more beautiful than people living in the spirit of “giving of thyself.”
Uniting Distant Stars would also like to extend our heart-filled Thanks to our Board Members, Supporters, Followers, and Volunteers that helped make our founding year a highly successful one! We look forward to continually develop and grow our organization in 2014 to better serve our young beneficiaries in Liberia, West Africa.
