Volunteer Testimonials:

Anna Bertch
“UDS has successfully touched lives all across the globe, mine being no exception. Since I began volunteering as National Youth Leader for UDS, I’ve been able to contribute my creativity, thoughts, and support in meaningful ways which I know have created a lasting positive effect. It has given me an opportunity to be heard, even as a teen, and I know it has done the same for the children in Liberia; UDS inspires them and amplifies their voices. This is evident in the powerful academic and social progress the students have been able to make, and you can see in photographs and videos how they glow. I was able to talk first hand with several students myself (via google hangout) and they could not express enough their gratitude for UDS and all that it does for them. Uniting Distant Stars is ever-working to restore broken down or otherwise afflicted Liberian children to their natural star-like states. I’ve been honored to contribute to this cause.”

“When I first graduated from grad school and relocated to Minneapolis, I was eager to find a non-profit focused on Liberian youth. UDS was a great way for me to continue to be involved in international affairs and gain experience on what it takes to run a non-profit organization in two countries and creating momentum to get others interested. I was attracted to UDS because of the practical approach it takes with enriching lives of young people, and empowering them to use resources within their communities that can create lasting change.”
